Pierre Bost is a French scenario writer (Lasalle, Gard, January 26th 1901 - Paris, December 9th 1975).
Biography
Novelist, journalist and dramatic author French, Pierre Bost began with the Théâtre from the Old man-Dovecote with a comedy: the Imbecile , then turned to the novel of which this first title.
With beginning of the year 40, he wrote a great number of scenarios and film dialogs, often with his accomplice Jean Aurenche, of which some remain famous like the Crossing of Paris , the green Mare , the Longest way round , etc
A few years after its death, Bertrand Tavernier drew his film One Sunday in the countryside from its novel Mr Ladmiral soon will die . The texts, called by the voice-over of the director throughout film, are extracted from this novel, which was republished by the Gallimard editions in 2005 in the collection “the imaginary one”.
