Pierre Beams (1679-1732)

Pierre Baux was born the August 12th 1679 undoubtedly with Nimes and died the September 3rd 1732 with Saint-Dionizy close to Nimes. It is a famous doctor.

Biography

Protesting, it made nevertheless its first classes in a college of Jesuits (the edicts of 1685 and 1686 obliged the Protestants to make raise their children in the Catholic religion). It was then with Montpellier and - on request of his father with Orange where it studied medicine.

He became Doctor on October 9th 1696. He practiced with Nimes, with Paris of 1705 with 1707, then again with Nimes.

Its reputation became international.

According to certain writings, " it was made a duty give care to the poor with greatest solicitude; also, it provided them free the drugs of which they had besoin."

When one feared with Nimes the invasion of the Peste, contrary to many doctors, it remained and composed a Traité plague (1722) where it gave the diagnosis of this disease and indicated the best means of preserving some and to cure it.

This treaty obtained the vote of the Chicoineau doctor.

He is the father of Pierre Baux (second of the name), the great-grandfather of Benjamin Valz. From his great-grandmother (Etiennette Of the Piglets), Pierre Baux goes down from the House Of the Piglets, celebrates noble family and illustrates dynasty of Provence.
