Pierre Baudis
Pierre Baudis (May 11th 1916 - January 5th 1997) was mayor of Toulouse of 1971 with 1983.
He was the father of Dominique Baudis, itself mayor of Toulouse of 1983 with 2000 and chair SCUMS of 2000 2007.
Elected official appointed of the Haute-Garonne in 1958 and re-elected in 1962, it will sit in the group of the democratic Center (Independent and MRP). He will support the candidature of Jean Lecanuet at the time of the presidential election of 1965.
In March 1967, it is beaten with legislative by André Rousselet, close collaborator of François Mitterrand. It will find its seat in June 1968 and will be connected with the group of the Independent Republicans (the " Giscardiens "). Assistant of the mayor of Toulouse Louis Bazerque since 1959, it has in load the important social sector of the city, which enables him to be made personal customers. In March 1971, it is presented against Louis Bazerque and is elected with the second turn with 58% of the voices. Re-elected appointed in March 1973, it must face in March 1977 with a sharp offensive of the Socialists led by Alain Savary. It carries it in two of the three sectors of the city. In March 1978, it is beaten with legislative by the young Socialist Gerard Bapt. In March 1983, it yields the chief candidate to his son Dominique who is easily elected in his place.
