Pierre Barbizet

Pierre Barbizet is a Pianiste French born with Arica (Chile) the September 20th 1922 and died with Marseilles the January 18th 1990.

He studies with the Conservatoire of Paris where he obtains his first prices of piano (1944), history of the music and chamber music. In 1948, it gains the Grand Prix of the international Contest of Scheveningen and, in 1949, he is prize winner (5th price) international Concours Marguerite-Length-Jacques-Thibaud. At its beginnings, it often occurs with Pigalle with the pianist Samson François. From 1963 until its death in 1990, he is director of the Conservatoire of Marseilles.

Pierre Barbizet is also famous to have constituted with the Violoniste Christian Ferras a very famous duet piano - violin in the purest French style.
