Pierre Barbet spaniel

Pierre Barbet spaniel , of his true name Claude Avice , born the May 16th 1925 with the Mans and dead the July 20th 1995, is a writer French.

Doctor of pharmacy, it published some scientific articles, inter alia on the biotic . He is one of rare the writer S French to be translated and published in the the United States. He wrote under his name like under several Pseudonyme S such as Olivier Sprigel , in homage to Stephan Spriel, director of the fantastic ray where it had made its beginnings, and David Maine , to recall that it was born in France, in old the duchy of Maine. All its work shows of a perfect scientific control, but also a great optimism which slices with pessimism reigning in the kind. Where others see only concrete and bitumen in the future, it depicts green landscapes. Its optimism has however limits: all depends on the man, his ethics and the use which it will make of the advances in knowledge, able of best, but also of worst if it is not controlled.

Also Barbet tries it to find solutions with the problems which threaten, to avoid the catastrophes announced like inevitable by other authors of the kind. It shows its confidence in the man with the proviso of not leaving science to the hands of the only profit, often unwise, as in Nuage of dead , but rather with the hands of judicious, not involved and careful men.

It treats very varied topics the such cloning, the mutants, bionics, the universes heroic fantasy or Uchronie, where it reorganizes the history while making triumph Hannibal vis-a-vis Rome and overcome Japan with the battle of Midway. It shows also the various upgrading capabilities of the man by integrating there the clones, the mutants, the cyborgs and the psyborgs; but especially those of its behavior vis-a-vis new situations and engineering problems.
