Pierre Assouline

Pierre Assouline , born with Casablanca the April 17th 1953, is a writer and a Journaliste French. He published a score of books, whose several biographies, and was Chroniqueur with the radio.

Course

Wire of a director of companies, Pierre Assouline passes his childhood to Casablanca before following secondary studies to the Fidès course and the Lycée Janson-with-Sailly of Paris. After studies with the university of Nanterre and the School of the Eastern languages, he becomes journalist.

He works initially for agencies (Apei, Asa Press, Fotolib) before entering to the services “foreigner” of the Quotidien of Paris (1976-1978) then of France Soir (1979-1983), while teaching in the Center of improvement of the journalists and while collaborating in the History (1979).

Starting from the middle of the years 1980, it approaches the literary world: he writes several books on the recent cultural history, to start with a biography of Gaston Gallimard, and becomes literary adviser of the editions Balland (1984-1986). He enters as journalist to the magazine '' Lire '' (1985), of which he becomes director of the drafting in 1993.

Man of radio (France Inter (1986-1990); RTL (1990-1999); punctually on France Culture), he is also chronicler with the Monde 2 , critical for Nouvel Observateur , and member of the editorial board of the monthly magazine the History . It is finally in charge of conference for the course of read/write at the school of journalism of the Institut of political studies of Paris.
