He married more the young girl of François Boucher in 1758. He specialized in the Miniature S with the Gouache which he exposed for the first time to the Salon of 1761. He was accepted member of the royal Académie in 1763 with a small gouache of historical subject Phryné shown impiété in front of the Aréopage , (Paris, Musée of Louvre) and painted thereafter biblical illustrations of episodes.

However, it made its fame as a draftsman of scenes libertines within a contemporary framework. These gouaches were exposed to the Living room of 1763 with 1769. Some were condemned by the archbishop of Paris and even by Diderot. Many of its works is directly inspired by the scenes pastoral love Stopping but the attention with the moral topics and the details shows that it was also influenced by Jean-Baptiste Greuze.
