This State of the Officers of the Genious , published anonymously in year XII (i.e. 1803 or 1804), undoubtedly with very small number (more still on vellum paper), is, as the Opinion indicates it to the back of the half title " extracted the History of the Body of the Genius, works of more than extent, which will develop all that one could only indicate in this abrégé." Ex-dono on a white guard of J. Boulatignier with E. David, with a long note of the giver, dated 1868: " The historical precis on the bodies of the genius is due to Mr. Allent, one of the men who the most honoured the Council of State by the extent and the variety with his knowledge. " (in all 10 lines). S. Joseph Boulatignier, born in 1805, Master of the requests to the Council of State, is the author, with the baron J.Marie de Gérando (in addition biographer of P.A.J. In Paris, At Duprat, year IX-1800, 1800. in-8, VII-73 pp. Mémoire writes at the time of the reorganization of the school of Wall where will be joined together the schools of applications of the Genius and Artillery in 1802 and of the whole of the body of the Genius and the Bridges and Chaussées. Quérard indicates to us that the author signed only the letter and the specimen addressed to the first Consul; Allent shows that in spite of the relationship between the two weapons, there are no reasons necessary to join together the exercise of it. Napoleon will give up the project of meeting of the two bodies.
