Pierre Aguiton

Pierre Aguiton , born on December 31st 1926 with Sourdeval (Handle), dead on July 2nd 2004 with the Cresnay (Handle), is a French politician.

Born in a family from tradesmen, it follows studies to the Caen Faculty of Law, and obtains a Diploma of higher learning of political economy, a License in right, then passes the Training certificate to the occupation of lawyer.

Appointed temporary judge with Rouen, it is named substitute of the public prosecutor to Douai, then with the Havre. He becomes then vice-president of the Court of Bankruptcy of Bobigny, before entering to the Court of Appeal of Paris like advising then president of room. In 1988, it is named honorary magistrate.

In parallel, it engages politically in the Manche, as mayor of Brécey and by integrating the General advice of the English Channel as from 1967, and the district council starting from 1974.

He attends the Parisian political circles in 1973, when he becomes Principal private secretary of the Secretary of State to Tourism, operations manager near the Minister for Finance then of the Minister of Industry the following year, and legal adviser of the Minister of Interior Department between 1974 and 1978.

In the Years 1980, it is essential like one of the figures of the right-hand side Low Norman, elected vice-president of the District council of Basse-Normandie (1985-2004), and chair General advice of the English Channel during one decade following Leon Jozeau-Marigné (1988-1998). With these responsibilities, it deals particularly with cultural development, chair in particular the regional Orchestra, the regional polyphonic Center, the regional Funds of contemporary art and Regional center of the ethnological and technical culture (CRéCET) of Basse-Normandie. The English Channel owes him also the creation of the Center of arts of the circus to Cherbourg-Octeville.

He dies of a cancer, shortly after the defeat of the right-hand side to the regional of 2004.

He is the father of Christophe Aguiton, trade unionist and altermondialist French.
