Pierre-Olivier Lebasteur is an engineer of the XIXe century which in particular conceived the Canal of the High-Seine, of Troyes to Marcilly-sur-Seine (1846). It began its career on the building site of the side Canal in the Loire.
It was a precursor of the use of metal in the tubular bridges with the Pont-canal out of cast iron of Barberey-Saint-Sulpice, close to Troyes (1846).
