Pierre-Joël Bonté

Pierre-Joël Bonté , born on December 27th 1946 with Vichy, deceased on January 18th 2006 with Clermont-Ferrand, was a Politician French, member of the Socialist party (PS).

Its course

Chartered accountant in the beginning, he was the founder of one of the most important companies of accountancy of Auvergne.

He adhered initially to the Communist youth (1965 - 1968) before entering to the PS in 1971.

In March 1977, it entered to the Municipal council of Riom; he was then first assistant of the Mayor.

In March 1979, it is elected General adviser Canton of Riom-Is with 54,28% of the voices, canton which it lost thereafter. It became again General adviser, this time of the Canton of Riom-West in 1988 while beating with the second turn Daniel Grenet (UDF) with 58,39%.

It became Maire of Riom in June 1995 leaf of accuracy the outgoing mayor Claude Liebermann (RPR).

President of the District council of Auvergne

The list of Union of the left (Socialist party - PCF - the Greens) - that he led in area Auvergne for the regional elections of the March 21st and March 28th, 2004 having gained the absolute majority of the votes (52,67%, 30 seats), it became the new president of the District council of Auvergne, leaf Valery Giscard d'Estaing (47,33%, 17 seats), which occupied this function since March 1986. Pierre-Joël Bonté resigned then of the Municipal council of Riom, but remained general adviser of Riom-West.
