Pierre-Gaston Rigaud (August 4th 1874 with Saint-Morillon - June 27th 1939 with Paris) is a post-impressionist painter French.

After having been raises school of the Art schools of Bordeaux, it is pupil of the Art schools of Paris in 1895 (Bonnat Workshop, Gustave Moreau and Albert Marignan).

It exposes to the Salon of the French artists.

Vice-president of the painters of figures, it also exposes to the Living room of the Main road, the Indépendants, Tileries, Salon of autumn etc…

After having carried out many tables of composition, landscapes, portraits, (landscapes of the Basque Country, Corsica , of Venice, Arcachon…), it is devoted almost exclusively to the Cathédrale S and their Vitraux. It is known like the “man of the cathedrals”: Chartres, Bourges, Amiens, Auxerre

It exposes to Paris, Galerie Georges Small-Carpenter and in province. A certain number of French museums, generally in province, acquired of its works: the Luxembourg, Nantes, Angouleme, Troyes, Tour-du-Pin, Mulhouse.

It obtains a gold medal with the colonial Exposition of 1931, another with the exposure of 1937 for a great decorative composition on the soil of Bordeaux.

Many tables of Pierre-Gaston Rigaud are in particular collections in France (Robert of Sizeranne, of Chaponnay Prince de Croÿ, Baron d' Echtal d' Astorica, Abel Pifre, Roblot, Ghensi, Decroix, Faure, Marmes the apostof Count of elbée, Odier), in Switzerland (J. Stern, William Aguet, of Witt) and in the United States.

In 1904, it marries Madeleine Filippi (1878 - 1976), with the Hoisting cable with Alençon (Orne) and have 2 children Genevieve Rigaud (1906 - 1982) which becomes the wife of the journalist Caricaturiste André Cazaumayou, known as " Caza" (1911 - 2003) and Jean Stone (1912 - 1999) Painter of the Navy. He is the grandfather of the painter Impressionniste Vincent (Cazaumayou) and of the draftsman of Cartoons and illustrator of Science Fiction Caza (Philippe Cazaumayou).

Pierre-Gaston Rigaud is buried with Bordeaux.
