Pierre-Etienne Will , born the July 14th 1944 with Glay, is a Historien French of the modern China.

Author of a thesis on the Bureaucracy and famine in China of the 18th century, dynasty of CH' ing , it is since 1991 Professor with the Collège de France, holder of the pulpit of history of modern China, and since 1992 directing of studies cumulating with the École of the high studies in social sciences.

He is member of the European forum of the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation for International Scholary Exchange of Taiwan and of the scientific advice of the Franco-Chinese Fondation for science and his applications.
