Pierre-Etienne Despatys de Courteille
Pierre-Etienne Despatys de Courteille (1753 - 1841) was a appointed of the Tiers state of the Bailliage S of Melun and Moret-sur-Loing with the General states of 1789.
Biography
Resulting from the middle-class of dress and born in the Nievre, Pierre-Etienne Despatys de Courteille began his career as lawyer.
To advise with the Bailliage Auxerre in 1779, it obtained in 1785 the load of criminal general lieutenant with the bailliage of Melun.
Elected official appointed with the General states as of the first ballot, it was very estimated for his competences in the work of the commissions of the Parliament.
After an eclipse under the Convention, a long career opened for him in Melun and Paris, until the Restauration: career in the civil and criminal magistrature on the one hand, political career on the other hand.
Whatever the mode, it continued until the Monarchie of July: he was elected appointed in 1816, 1827 and 1830.
In 1831, it took its “retirement” of deputy of Seine-et-Marne, but remained until its death chair civil Court of Melun.
