Piero Pollaiuolo

Piero Pollaiuolo or Piero del Pollaiuolo born Piero Benci , (Florence ~1441 - Rome 1496), is an Italian painter of the Rebirth. He learns painting with Paolo Ucello and Andrea del Castagno. He is the brother of Antonio Pollaiuolo with which he works and more appreciated of his time than him.

Their work shows at the same time their interest for the traditional influences and for the anatomy and they practice the dissection to increase their knowledge and to acquire a realistic representation of the movement, fight and tension.
