Pierino da Vinci

Pierino da Vinci (v. 1531 - 1554) is an Italian sculptor, nephew of Léonard de Vinci.

It is born with Anchiano, close to Vinci, in the family home of Vinci. His/her father is not other than the half-brother of large Léonard. His/her mother comes from the same village as the mother of Léonard. One could say that it was about an experiment aiming at reproducing the talent of Léonard. Pierino studies with Florence, in one of the most prestigious academies of sculpture. It shown there large and early talent. Later, some of its works will be thus allotted by error to Michel-Angel.

Its most famous work is the representation of a Jeune river with the Musée of Louvre, carved towards 1548 whereas Pierino is only 17 years old.

Perhaps a portrait of young man of Agnolo Bronzino, exposed to the National Gallery (London), represents it.
