Piera Aulagnier is a psychoanalyst, and doctor psychiatrist born in 1923 in Italy with Milan.
Piera makes its studies of medicine in Italy before leaving in France to the beginning of the year 50 to perfect its formation. It Marie then with a French of the name of Aulagnier of which it will have a son.
With Paris, it meets Jacques Lacan and begins an analysis with him in 1955 which will end in 1961. It then introduces it with the French company of psychoanalysis (SFP), created in 1953 following the scission with the psychoanalytical Société of Paris (SPP), company not-recognized by the IPA (International Psychoanalytic Association).
It will follow Lacan at the time of the second scission of the history of the psychoanalysis in 1963-64 and will very quickly be promoted analyst of the school (the highest title) with the EFP (École freudienne of Paris) by Lacan and person in charge of the formation of this fact.
However, when Lacan proposes in 1967 the procedure of the master key, procedure establishing the analyst in his practice, Piera Aulagnier is opposed to it very strongly because she judges that will cause only to increase the already strong hegemony of Lacan within this school. Indeed, the “frontier runners” which must judge if the candidate correctly carried out his personal analysis and if it could recreate the theory in the same movement, will line up in the opinion of Lacan on the candidate.
When Lacan wants to make legalize in the school this procedure in January 1969, she resigns at the same time as her colleagues François Perrier and Jean-Paul Valabrega. They then create together the Fourth group OPLF (psychoanalytical Organization of French language), fourth with the APF (resulting from the second scission), the EFP and the SPP. Being separated from Lacan on the mode of training of the analysts, they propose a new procedure: analysis fourth. The same year, 1969, Piera Aulagnier founds, with Jean Paul Valabrega, the review Topique which is today one of the great reviews of the psychoanalysis of French language.
The theoretical work of Piera Aulagnier is of a great difficulty because it is inspired at the same time by the work of Freud that this one probably knew to perfection and of the style of thought, even of the style of writing of Jacques Lacan. To describe the Psychosis of which it has great clinical experience, Piera Aulagnier recreates its clean Métapsychologie: the organizing authority and which decides structure of the subject becomes it “I”. “I” indicate, in first approach, the course identificatoire of the subject through several complex stages: T0, T1 and T2. Piera Aulagnier brings moreover the complex of potentiality (nevrotic, psychotic, or polymorphic).
The review Topique was founded by Aulagnier, which published very many articles there.
