Pier of Scheveningen

The thrown of Scheveningen (in Dutch Scheveningse pier ) is a complex of Loisir S pertaining to the Entreprise Van der Valk located on the Plage of Scheveningen giving on the the North Sea to the Netherlands.

The first thrown of Scheveningen, called Wandelhoofd Koningin Wilhelmina , was inaugurated by the prince Henri de Mecklembourg in 1901. This pier in Bois was located just behind the hotel of Kurhaus. The pier was demolished in 1943, after a low register Incendie.

The construction of a new pier, located a little more at north, started in 1959. This one was inaugurated in 1961 by leprince Bernhard. The pier was repurchased in 1991 by the family Van der Valk for the sum symbolic system of 1  guilder. During ten years following, the pier was increased, but it remains always less important than it was it in the past. New projects exist for the installation of new buildings on the pier.
