The term of pidgin (male Name ) indicates different common languages simplified created on the vocabulary and certain structures of a basic language, in general European (English, French, Spanish, etc).

The linguists distinguish the pidgin from the creole according to the level of structuring of the language. However, it is current to hold the term pidgin with the languages resulting from English and the creole term with the languages resulting from French. It is however an abusive employment.

Example of pidgin of New Guinea-News-Guinea: yumi meaning “us” (resulting from English you + me ).

Note:: the Pijin (to note the orthography) is a pidgin with English lexical base spoken in the the Solomon Islands.

Origin of the word pidgin

The word pidgin would come from the deformation of the English word business in Anglo-Chinese Pidgin. Initially used to indicate this one, it then spread with all the languages of contact to the comparable characteristics.
