Picolit
The picolit is a Italian Cépage of white grapes probably already known of Romans. Its name was selected in reference to the small volume of the grapes (piccolo = small).
Origin and geographical distribution
It comes from the north of Italy. The picolit is probably identical to the Kéknyelü of Hungary. It is classified auxiliary type of vine in DOC. Colli Orientali del Friuli and in Collio Goriziano. It is classified recommended in the area Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the provinces of Gorizia, Pordenone and of Udine. In 1998, it covered 282 ha.
