Raymond Picard is a French academic.

Specialist in the theater of Jean Racine, to which it devoted a thesis in 1956, it is also known to be himself opposite with Roland Barthes and, to have more generally denounced what it regarded as the " impostures" " news critique". Raymond Picard had prepared the first edition, in two volumes, of complete works of Jean Racine in the Library of the Pleiad.
