Picardy Ghislain
Ghislain Picard is the Chief of the Parliament of the First Nations from Quebec and Labrador.
Biography
Originating in the community innue of Betsiamites on the Coast-North, Ghislain Picard began from the courses in arts and communications in 1976. He made a short stay within the federal public office in 1978 or he receives an offer of the Council of the Atikamekw and Montagnais where he will occupy until 1983, various stations in communication. In 1983, he becomes cofounder of the Atikamekw-Montagnaise Communications company which diffuses radio broadcasts in indigenous language with the whole of the communities Atikamekw and Montagnaises. In 1989, he is elected Vice-président within the Council of Atikamekw and Montagnais. It is in January 1992, which he is elected regional Chef within the Parliament of the First Nations for the area of Quebec and Labrador. It ensures it the bond with forty-three Chefs of its area.
