Physical Examination

The physical examination , or clinical examination , belonged to the Medical examination, which makes it possible to the doctor to lead to a diagnosis.
This medical examination includes/understands two stages classically: a anamnèse which makes it possible, by the interrogation, to recall the history of the disease, then a physical examination in the search of physical signs. Sometimes, of the complementary medical examinations are necessary if the two preceding stages are not enough with établissment to the diagnostic.
The physical examination, with the interrogation, is the base of any medical examination, it requires only some instruments and can be carried out with the cabinet or the bed of the patient. It is an essential time, allowing a contact between the doctor and his patient. He however is forsaken in modern medicine, replaced more and more by complementary examinations. He must be systematic and as complete as possible, directed by the reason for consultation, the Symptôme S announced by the patient and found at the time of the anamnèse. He allows, while finding or not certain clinical signs, to bring evidence to support a diagnostic assumption.

The physical examination includes/understands several stages:

  • an examination of the digestive system
  • an examination of the bones and articluations (ostéo-articular examination)
  • a neurological examination
  • an examination of the skin (dermatological examination)
  • an examination of the ganglionic surfaces
  • an examination of the urinary tract
  • an examination ORL
  • an examination stomatologic
  • a urologic examination
  • a gynaecological examination among women
