Definition

Generic term which indicates the whole of the physical practices in particular taught in the medium of teaching (School, college, college and university). It is an expression of the field of education (in France in particular) amalgamating the whole of the driving practices in which a subject carries out driving actions of all kinds (gestures, postures, coordinations, skills, etc).

In the years Years 1970 and Years 1980, one spoke about “physical-activities and sporting” (APS); then in the Years 1990, the official programs of EPS, associate the “artistic” qualifier with it.

The “physical-activities, sporting and artistic” (A.P.S.A) relate to all the motor activities used like means for EPS and having a cultural representation. One meets codified activities there, like the collective sports, the Sports of combat, the sports of racket, the artistic activities, etc Concerning the not-codified activities, of relaxation and of leisure, one counts: the race on foot, walking, play, etc
