Phosphite

The ion phosphite (PO33−) is a polyatomic Ion with a central atom of Phosphore. Its geometry is pyramidal trigonal. Many phosphite salts, the such ammonium phosphite, are highly water soluble. The term “phosphite” is sometimes employed to indicate the Ester of phosphite, composed Organophosphoré of formula P (GOLD) 3.

Phosphorous acid

The Acide combined of the anion phosphite is the Phosphorous acid (H3PO3). It is called also acid orthophosphoreux and oxidizes dihydroxyphosphine. The phosphorous acid is an acid diprotic, since hydrogen directly related to the central phosphorus atom is not ionizable. A more logical chemical formula for the phosphorous acid is HPO (OH) 2, since there are not really three hydroxides groups in this acid. The acid can be synthesized by treatment of the carboxylic acid, alcohol, or more practically water, by the Tribromure of phosphorus or more commonly Trichlorure of phosphorus.

PBr3 + 3 ROH → 3 RBr + HP (O) (OH) 2

PBr3 + 3 RCOOH → 3 RCOBr + HP (O) (OH) 2

PCl3 + 3:00 2O → HP (O) (OH) 2 + 3 HCl

Synthesis of composed of phosphite

The organophosphorés made up called phosphite esters (or sometimes right phosphites) have as a formula (R O) 3P. They are prepared by reaction of the Trichlorure of phosphorus (or Tribromure of phosphorus) with a alcohol and a tertiary amine.

PCl3 + 3 ROH + 3 R ' 3N → P (GOLD) 3 + 3R ' 3NHCl

The acid phosphites are compounds which contain a metal cation and an anion phosphite dihydrogene. These compounds are produced while making react the phosphorous acid with a metal Carbonate (typically Rb, Cs, or Tl). The acid phosphites have formed crystalline structures of alternate layers of tétrahèdres HPO3 and metal cations.
