A phonetic transcription is a method of more or less formalized transcription sounds of one or more languages.

This transcription normally returns an approximation of the standard pronunciation of the language. The dialectal and individual alternatives are difficult to return in the transcription. The alternatives of the same phoneme (allophone) are almost always impossible to return. Some signs are at disposal to return information paraverbales (pauses, to scrape, cough, laugh…).
