Philippsbourg
Philippsbourg ( German Philippsburg in ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The Village belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and of the basin of life of the Moselle-is.
Geography
In the middle of the country covered, in a broken Landscape strewn with sproutings of sandstone, the Village of Philippsbourg developed along the Route of Bitche with Haguenau, just with the borders of the Alsace. The Village and its variations are located mainly in the Vallée Falkensteinerbach, opening the Pays of Bitche towards the Alsace. The River to the Rive S escarpées is stretched through large the domanial Forêt of Bannstein.characteristic Village-street, Philippsbourg is dominated by the high silhouette of the Protestant church. The Village still preserves some Maison S old, including one very long firm of 1812.

History
The appendix of Lieschbach mark the limit enters the provinces of the Gaulle Belgium and the Germanie. The territory then forms part of the seigniory of Falkenstein which is sold in 1564 with the counts de Hanau-Lichtenberg. The Village owes its name to the count Philippe IV of Hanau Lichtenberg which made there build a Château in 1606, located on the right Rive of the Falkensteinerbach, in the North-West of the current Agglomération.In 1606, the Charles IV of Lorraine, lord of Bitche, gives up its rights on the territory in favor of the Hanau-Lichtenberg which join together it with their baillage Lemberg, close to Pirmasens. In 1633, the Château is destroyed by the imperial troops and Lorraine. With the foot of the Château in ruins develops the Village of Philippsbourg, which passes in 1736, with the seigniory of Hanau-Lichtenberg, with the landgrave of Hesse - Darmstadt. The city is besieged and taken in 1688 by Vauban.
With the French revolution, during which the Village is annexed to the France in 1793.
During the Second world war, the Village is evacuated on September 1st 1939 with Saint-Simeux and Sonneville in Charente, the Mairie there being folded up. The Village is bombarded in September 1944 and of January to March 1945. It is released by the American the March 17th 1945.
Worships
Before the Reform, the territory forms an appendix of the Paroisse of Obersteinbach, in the archpriest of the Haut-Haguenau to the diocese of Strasbourg. In 1564, the count Philippe de Hanau-Lichtenberg introduces the Réforme and Philippsbourg becomes branch of the Protestant Paroisse of Offwiller until in 1700, Date to which the Village is set up in Paroisse, before becoming again appendix of the Protestant Paroisse of the Village close to Baerenthal in 1739. The Protestant church is built in 1912 by the German Architecte Arthur Kickton in the style of the Gothic architecture of the Germany of the South. The building has a Porche in frontage and a Toit with very strong slope, which give him a very picturesque kind. This religious situation particular explains the absence of cross of way in these two Village S.For the catholic , the Village is since 1804 an appendix of the Paroisse of Eguelshardt, with the Diocèse of Metz. The vault Our-Lady-of-Door is built in 1905.

The Population doubled between 1801 and 1900, passing from 237 inhabitants with 571. She has remained relatively stable for this period and counts 531 more inhabitants with the Recensement of 1999.

- In edge of the Road of Niederbronn, isolated to a few hundreds from meters only from the Alsace, a firm with side-of-wood is organized around a court closed. The home illustrates well the evolution of the placement of the buildings: the oldest part, at the bottom of the court, dated 1744, has a first level in Maçonnerie and a second level in half-timbering, while the wing in return of square added in 1836 has its principal rough-cast hardcore frontage, the side-of-wood being relegated to the back. In the court, a Hangar is dated 1821 and bears the name of the owners of the time.
