Philippe de Dreux
Philippe of Dreux , born in 1158, dead the November 2nd 1217, bishop of Beauvais, wire of Robert Ier de France, count de Dreux, and of Agnes de Baudement, rams Braine.
Quarrelsome prelate, this soldier miter of the 11th century went twice guerroyer in Holy Land (in 1170 and during the Third crusade) and remained the second time prisoner with Baghdad. Seeking only meetings and battles, it was announced to the combat of Arsur and Saint-Jean-in Acre where it was taken by the Moslems in 1190.
On its return in Occident, it fought the English while being measured with Richard Ier Lion-hearted (1197). They did it captive close to Milly the May 19th 1197. It remained a long time in prison and was delivered in 1202.
It took share with the Croisade against the Albigensians in 1209, and announced in 1214 near Philippe-Auguste to the Bataille of Bouvines.
Interpreting in a way worthy of time the canonical laws which defended with the priests to pour blood, it renonça with the sword and the sharp weapons and did not use any more that its mass of weapon to strike its enemies.
