Philippe Vuillemin

Philippe Vuillemin is a draftsman of Cartoon French, born the September 8th 1958 with Marseilles.

The course

Philippe Vuillemin enters the world of the Cartoon in 1977, by inventing short stories in the Echo of Savannas, Hara-Kiri (newspaper) or Charlie Mensuel. Its style, private individual and new, largely do not comply with the rules of ninth Article Contrary to the clear lines of Hergé and of its heirs, Vuillemin draws of a fatty and unmethodical feature, such Jean-Marc Reiser or Jack Davis.

In 1984, it creates with Jackie Berroyer Raoul Teigneux against the Druzes . Moving back in front of no taboo, playing sometimes of the provocation, specializing in wild humor and without concession, it ensures the continuation, after Reiser and Coluche, of the series of the Dirty Jokes of the Echo, scatologic stories on which it works in company of Jean-Marie Gourio. It is as with the latter as Vuillemin is seen prohibiting the publication of Hitler = S , a Hara-Kiri album.

Then, it diversifies its artistic activities and works for varied publications, like Hebdo, Zoulou, Grand Coffee and Zero. In 1989, it illustrates the Satanic Verses of the Gospel , text of the Professor Choron. In January 1995, one decrees the Grand Prix of the to him Festival of Angouleme.
