Philippe Val

Philippe Val (born the September 14th 1952 with Paris) is a man with the artistic activities, journalistic and literary multiple. He is the director of the publication and the drafting of the Journal Charlie Hebdo . He is also humorist, writer, musician, chansonnier, actor and chronicler radio operator.

Biography

Public standpoint

Philippe Val published in the n° 714 of Charlie Hebdo a petition for the right to the blasphemy, signed inter alia by Bernard-Henri Levy, Salman Rushdie and Taslima Nasreen. In the n° 715 of March 1st, 2006 of Charlie Hebdo , it brought back the meeting organized by association the " Proclamation for freedoms " , animated by liberal intellectuals of Moslem culture and in fight against Islamism, where intellectuals and militants resulting from the Muslim world came to defend the right to the blasphemy and their dissension with the concept of islamophobie and the use which is made by it (the islamophobie would replace thus today the traditional concept of racism). Charlie Hebdo brings back the remarks of Ghaleb Bencheik, for which the concept of islamophobie would be dangerous because it would condition a blindness on the worst abuses of power actually made in the name of Islam. Bencheik thinks that people of left “are too often bernés by the speech of islamist which uses the passages of Coran on damnés of the ground”. Philippe Val shares these criticisms about the naivety of the extreme-left.

Philippe Val on the occasion to write that there exists a left Poujadisme of and that the extreme left “did not manage to exorcize” its demon which was its positioning “antidreyfusard” and which it is not always very lucid as for the anti-semitism. Criticisms against Philippe Val
