Philippe Suchard
Philippe Suchard is a Confiseur and Entrepreneur Suisse born the October 9th 1797 with Boudry and dead the January 14th 1884 with Neuchâtel.
Biography
It begins in the Confiserie in 1825 in Neuchâtel and launches out in the Chocolat to Serrières in 1826, creation date of the factory of Chocolat Suchard (at the origin of the Sugus) which it will only direct until in 1855, then with his/her Philippe son.
The confectionery is not the only field to which Philippe Suchard touches. In 1834, it launches on the Neuchâtel Lake the Steamer the Industriel of which it is also the captain. In 1837, it tries to launch in Suisse the culture of the worms to silk. A epidemic of Pébrine in 1843 ruins the whole.
He is member of the Cabin-maçonnique the Good Harmony with Neuchâtel.
