Philippe Soupault is a poet French, born with Chaville on August 2nd 1897, deceased in Paris on March 12th 1990.

With his friends André Breton and Louis Aragon it takes part in the adventure Dada, which it regards as a “clean slate necessary”, for then turning to the Surréalisme, of which it is one of the principal founders with André Breton ( the Magnetic fields ). It is excluded from it in 1926, for reason for “too much literature”, whereas the surrealist movement begins in the communist cause.

There remained faithful to its manner with the automatic writing.

Its poetry since the very cosmopolitan beginning and is opened with the movements of avant-garde. Soupault was also journalist, critical, essay writer, producer with the radio (in company of Paul Gilson) and he is the author of many novels.
