Philippe Pasqua
Philippe Pasqua is a painter French born in 1965 with Grasse. He lives and works with Paris.
Work
Autodidact, Philippe Pasqua takes part of the current revival of the representational Art.Through monumental fabrics, of a very large size and charged with matter, it represents the human figure with the frankness from the realism and the intensity of the Expressionnisme, exposing the body in all its states, restoring the palpitating flesh to release the attractive beauty from it.
He works per series of Portrait S, around particular topics: anaesthetized at the time of sexual surgical operations (series Trauma , 1999-2000 and Block , 2000-2001), trisomic children ( Camille , Lucille , Laura , Arthur , etc, series Children , 2001-2004), infants (series Babies , 2002-2003), naked of Isabelle (2003), impudent teenagers ( Constancy , series Gamine , 2004-2005), portraits of the Transgenre Caphi (series Large transvestite , 8 fabrics, 2004), etc
He always has recourse to the Photographie of which he uses the effects of framing ( Close-up, Contre-plongée) to fix his models.
the work of Pasqua obliges us to face a reality, more simply to observe it, but, better still, to feel it in our tripe.
the painting of Pasqua is a painting punch, as well by its subjects as by the way, furious, been obstinated, in which it treats them, a painting which questions us and destabilizes the image that usually we create realities which displease to us by their violence or their essential incongruity and that our layer prudishness leads us to " euphémiser" , thus, for example, of the Transsexualité or the trisomy.
Pasqua says to us that in all the states of the flesh, of which it exalte the metamorphoses, there is beauty. That this one owes manisfester such as in itself and beyond the good and the evil. As before him Bacon or Freud, of which he contemplated much the stubborn person work of destruction-rebuilding of reality, he still says to us, especially, the essential strangeness of the world and the human figure.
Philippe Pasqua started to expose to Paris in the Années 1990. Since, its works are also exposed in galleries in the United States, HongKong, Mexico City, London, Hamburg, etc
