It is this double characteristic of l' équipollence of the standards and the Exclusive competences which had brought in 1984 three professors of university, Misters Quévit, Tollet and Deschamps, to propose that Belgium becomes a confederal State. It raises at the time of an intervention to the Senate on the subject of the équipollence of the standards, the fact that within the framework of the relative debate in France in the future of the Corsica , a big part of the debate relates to the question of knowing if one can allot at a Corsican assembly the équipollence of standards.
