Philippe Morillon , born the October 24th 1935 with Casablanca with the Morocco, was a soldier of active, with the General rank of , before becoming a Politician French.
Biography

Philippe Morillon is graduate of Supélec (promotion 1964). In 1956, it enters to the military academy of Saint-Cyr military school and in 1974 to the school of the State major. Between 1984 and 1986, he was military adviser of the National Assembly.

At the time of the conflicts in ex- Yugoslavia, it succeeded Lewis Mackenzie in the capacity as commander of the armed forces of UNO (FORPRONU) in Bosnia-Herzégovine of September 1992 at July 1st 1993. In March 1993, it enters to Srebrenica (Massacre of Srebrenica) and pronounces the sentence which returned it celebrates “I will never leave you”.

It had as a successor at this station the Belgian general Francis Briquemont, of July 1st 1993 with the January 24th 1994.

Of 1994 with 1996, he becomes the commander of the Force of fast action. Philippe Morillon leaves the army in 1997 with the General rank of (5 stars).

Catholic, it is in charge of logistics for the preparation of the World Journées of Youth (JMJ) in Paris in August 1997.

Philippe Morillon is elected on the list UDF with the the European Parliament for the legislature 1999 - 2004. The June 13rd 2004, it leads the UDF list in the Western interregional district (Brittany, Pays of the Loire, Poitou-Charentes) and, for this reason, was re-elected appointed with the the European Parliament. In 2007, it takes part in the creation of the MoDem at the sides of Francois Bayrou.

the Morillon General is Member of the Commission of the foreign affairs, the human rights, common safety and the defense policy and temporary member of the commission of the co-operation and the development. He sits at the equal interparliamentary Parliament between the Africa-Caribbean-Pacific zone and the European Union and at the Euro-Mediterranean forum. He leads the delegation of the European Parliament the parliamentary Parliament of NATO.
