Philippe Monfils
Philippe Monfils born with Liege on January 4th 1939 is a Belgian politician of liberal tendency and a Walloon militant.
Doctor in right of the University of Liege (1962), attending of Professor François Perin of 1962 1968, he becomes cabinet chief of François Perin, then Minister for the institutional reforms (1974 - 1976). He prepares at this post office regionalization known as preparatory of the Perin minister in the Government of Léo Tindemans.
He is to advise communal of Liege of 1976 with 1982 on the lists of the Walloon Rassemblement, he leaves this party at the time of the turning on the left which is printed to him by Paul-Henry Gendebien in 1976 with François Perin, Jean Gol and Etienne Knoops, to found PRLw.
He is appointed with the Chambre 1981 with 1988, year to which he is elected senator (1988-1995), for the social affairs in the Communauté Wallonia-Brussels of 1981 to 1985 then Minister-president of this Community of 1985 becomes Minister at 1988. In 1995 it takes the succession of Jean Gol, abruptly deceased, whereas it has just been elected appointed with the Walloon Parlement, like European deputy (1995 - 1999).
It becomes again senator in 1999.
