Philippe Martin is a Politician French, born the November 22nd 1953 with the Garenne-Doves (Hauts-de-Seine).

Former Prefect of the Gers and the Moors, this fabiusien is elected appointed in 2002, then the June 17th, 2007, for XIIIe legislature (2007 - 2012), in the 1st district of the Gers. He belongs to the group Socialiste, radical and citizen (SRC).

The June 27th 2007, it is named second vice-president of the group Socialiste, radical and citizen, is responsible for sustainable development and agriculture.

Presidency of the General advice of the Gers, Philippe Martin proposed the organization of the first departmental referendum on the presence of tests GMO in full field. This initative had been supported by way of petition by more than 10% of the electorate gersois (as envisaged it the law of the August 13rd 2004).

This project was submitted in front of administrative justice by the Prefect of Gers. According to any probability the judgment in call will confirm impossibility for the General advice of consulting the gersois on the question of tests GMO.

Philippe Martin left, with FNSEA and the representative of the Semancier S the Grenelle of the environment in October 2007, when there was some discussion about freezing cultures GMO in full field, following the general observation of impossibility of controlling the dissemination.
