Philippe Manner
Philippe Manner , born on November 15th, 1961 in Dijon (Gold Coast), is a French journalist. He is managing director of the Institut Montaigne.
Graduate of the ESSEC and holder of a control in right of the businesses of the University Paris the II-Pantheon-Assas, it begins his career from journalist in 1984 as a person in charge of the heading Finances with the Quotidien of Paris then, as from 1988, it deals with the heading Argent of the Nouvel Economist and the cover of the Bourse de Paris with Europe 1.
It integrates in 1990 the drafting of the Point as a writer, then as an editor association and a economic leader-writer. It is then also responsible for the Affaires edition of the Point carried out with Business Week. It animates the Tuesday of the ESSEC of 1995 to 2001 when it interviewed nearly 60 personalities of politics and economics. During this period, he proposes during one season a daily economic chronicle on Europe 1.
In 2001, he becomes director of the drafting of the Letter of the Expansion and editor association with the Expansion .
During its career, it had the privilege to interview, inter alia, François Mitterrand (by interposed letters) in 1986, Jacques Chirac in 1994 or Wim Duisenberg in 2000.
He speaks three languages in addition to French: English, German and Italian.
Philippe Manière left the press in May 2004 to become the managing director of the Institut Montaigne, a laboratory of ideas (think-tank) created and chaired by Claude Bébéar.
He however continues to hold a chronicle of public policies in Enjeux- the Echoes and animates the great debates on the radio BFM Tuesday morning with an original formula: what proposes the right-hand side and the left for such or such problem for the presidential campaign and legislative in 2007? How make the foreigners vis-a-vis the raised problem? The emissions call upon the actors of right-hand side and left without discrimination like to French or foreign experts. This emission is done in collaboration with the Montaigne Institute
It takes part regularly in radio programs and of television (I-television, France Culture, France 2, France 3, Arte,…).
