Philippe Madec

Philippe Madec , born in 1954 with Brest (France), is Architecte town planner of trade, professor and research director, writer. Its professional practice extends from town and country planning to the design of furniture.

Teaching

Professor and research director, it is invited of 1983 to 1984 at the School of architecture of the Université Columbia (New York) on the topic of the teaching of the architectural project (1982-1991). From 1985 to 1991, he teaches with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the landscape of Versailles. He is in turn professor invited to the Design department of the Environment of the Université of Quebec to Montreal (1989) and to the School of Architecture of the University of Montreal (1991). In 1991,92 and 96, it is with design critic in Graduate School off Design of Harvard University.

In 1993-1994, he teaches architecture at the School of Architecture of Paris-Tolbiac, in 1994-1995 it is of return to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Landscape of Versailles, then in 1995-1996 he is professor associated with the School with Architecture with Grenoble. Appointed professor in architecture, it is of 1996 to 2000 at the School of Architecture of Normandy, and since 2001 with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of architecture of Lyon. Since 2005, he is professor invited to Technische Universität of Vienna to départment the BIOS (Francoise-Helene Jourda).

Engaged in the durable design of the human settlements, it creates with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of architecture of Lyon, the DAsDDE department Structure, Stratégie of Sustainable development and Équitable , associated with the schools of engineers ENTPE and INSA of Lyon.

It directs for the Ministère of the equipment a research under the title Architectures and environmental quality . In 2004, it is invited to the French House of the Biennale de Venise under the topic durable Métamorphoses .
