Philippe Jaccottet (born with Moudon, Canton of Vaud, Swiss, the June 30th 1925) is a Poète and translator Suisse of expression French E.

After studies of letters with Lausanne, he saw a few years with Paris. In 1953, it settles with Grignan, in the Drome. It translated Goethe, Hölderlin, Leopardi, Musil, Rilke, Thomas Mann, Ungaretti but also the Odyssey of Homère. In parallel, it launched out in poetry as from the years 1950.
