Philippe Ier of Savoy , born with Aiguebelle in 1207, died with Roussillon-in-Bugey the August 15th 1285, was and bishop of Valence of 1241 with 1267, archbishop of Lyon of 1246 with 1267, then count de Bourgogne of 1267 with 1279 and count de Savoie, of Aoste and Maurienne 1268 with 1285. It was wire of Thomas I {{er}}, count de Savoie, of Aoste and Maurienne, and Marguerite (or Beatrice) of Geneva.

Without to be ordered priest, he was elected bishop of Valence in 1241 and archbishop of Lyon in 1246. It renonça with its religious loads in 1267, with the approach of the end of his/her brother Pierre II of Savoy, to be able to succeed to him.

He married the July 11th 1267 the countess Adélaïde Ire of Burgundy († 1279), 58 years old, girl of the count Othon III of Burgundy and Béatrice II of Burgundy. By this marriage without children, it became count de Bourgogne, but with died of Adelaide, it was Othon IV of Burgundy, born from a first marriage of Adelaide with the count Hugues of Burgundy which took possession of Burgundy.

He often had to fight in Switzerland and in Piedmont, and managed to conquer Turin
