Philippe Gerbet

Olympe Philippe Gerbet , born the February 5th 1798 with Poligny (the Jura), deceased the August 7th 1864 with Perpignan, was a man of the church, writer and journalist French, bishop of Perpignan of 1853 with 1864.

Biography

After studies with the seminar Saint-Sulpice, Philippe Gerbet is ordered priest in 1822. Philippe Gerbet is the author of works of theology and texts of defense of Christianity, in particular, the July 23rd 1860, of a pastoral instruction On various errors of time present .
