Philippe Foerster

Philippe Foerster is a Scénariste and Belgian Dessinateur , born with Liege the August 13rd 1954.

Biography

It carries out its studies with the section Cartoon of the institute St Luc to Brussels where it becomes acquainted with Philippe Berthet, Antonio Cossu or Andreas with which it will collaborate several time by afterwards.

Large amateur of humor and black cinema, it is logically at Icy Fluide that it enters in 1980. He publishes there many accounts in black and white, where mix black and fantastic humor. Its short stories in black flat tint point out the famous Contes of the crypt (its style borrows from their authors Jack Davis or Wallace Wood) mixed with the narration and Charleroi-Marcinelle graphics also says “large nose”. This mixture of influences gives to the macabre tales of Foerster a single style.

To leave 1987, it publishes the three albums of the series Starbuck at Dupuis.

In 1988, it scénarise the Eye of the hunter for Philippe Berthet (published at Dupuis), with which he will still collaborate in 1996 for Chiens of meadow at Delcourt.

In 1996, it scénarise and draws Styx , published with the Lombard, a collaboration with Andreas which gives him its " patte" by its characteristic inking.

Between 2002 and 2004, Foerster publishes the three albums of the series Silex Files in the collection Third degree of the Lombard, putting in scene the very first private detective of the history of humanity:

In August 2005 appears, always in the collection Third degree of Lombard, the first album of the series Hangover , or the history of Pinocchio become an adult hefty man in solid oak.
