Philippe Entremont
Philippe Entremont (of his complete name Philippe Henri Jean Emile Leon Entremont) is a Pianiste French born with Rheims the June 7th 1934.
It is born in a musician family: his/her mother is pianist and his/her father, Jean Entremont, Violoniste, are director of the orchestra of the Grand Theater of Rheims.
He works with the Conservatoire of Paris in the class of Jean Doyen; in 1948, it obtains a first price of Chamber music followed by a first price of piano in 1949. Its professional beginnings go back to 1951 with Barcelona. He is finalist, in 1952, of the international musical Concours Queen-Elisabeth-of-Belgium. In 1953, it gains the second price of the international Concours Marguerite-Length-Jacques-Thibaud, as well as Harriet Cohen Piano Medal. The same year, it gives to the Carnegie Hall of New York it first American of the Concerto for piano of André Jolivet. He plays under the direction of Stravinski, Milhaud, Bernstein.
International virtuoso, Philippe Entremont had given more than 1500 concerts throughout the world, then 30 years old. He was regarded as “largest of the young pianists of our time”. He gains the Grand Prix of the disc of the Académie Charles-Cross-country race in 1965. Become Leader, it directed the Chamber orchestra of Vienna in 1972.
