Philippe Clave

Philippe Clave (born in 1916 with Hostun (Drome), deceased with Paris in 1996), is a French general.

Philippe Clave begins his military career while entering to the military academy Saint-Cyr military school (Yvelines) in 1936. Captive fact in 1940 by the Germans, it manages to escape and joined the French troops in North Africa. It takes part in the Campagne of Italy (Bataille of Assembles Casino), then unloads in Provence in August 1944. During the Countryside of France, it goes up the Vallée of the Rhone and joined the the Vosges. It crosses the the Rhine in 1945, to take part in the countryside of Germany.

Sent in Indo-China, it takes part then in the Guerre of Algeria, taking the head of a regiment of Algerian Tirailleurs. Named general in 1967, it takes the command of a division with Baden-Baden (FRG) before becoming military governor of Bordeaux (1970). In 1973, the president Georges Pompidou names it military Gouverneur of Paris. It will remain it until in 1975, year, where it is named general.

The general Philippe Clave was Grand Officer of the Légion of honor.
