Philippe Buache , French geographer, born with Paris in 1700, died in 1773.

It was formed under the geographer Guillaume Delisle, of which it married the girl; in 1729 first geographer of the king was named. He establishes the division of the sphere by basins of rivers and seas, subordinates the ones with the others. He believed in the existence of a southern continent, opinion that the posterior discoveries confirmed to a certain extent.

He published in 1754 a physical Atlas , and gave several memories. He was Academy of Science.
