Philippe Bender
Philippe Bender is a Musicien French born the February 25th 1942 with Besancon.
In addition to playing of various instruments, and being excellent a Flutist, it is:
- Director artistic and chief of the regional Orchestra of Cannes-Provence-Alp-Coast-D' titular Azure
- chief and artistic director of the Symphony orchestra of the Balearic Islands to Palma de Majorque.
Biography
After having begun its musical studies in its birthplace, it continues them with the Conservatoire Higher National of Music of Paris where it obtains in 1959 the first three prices.
It follows the courses of Hochschule für Musik of Freiburg-in-Brisgau, then those of the Julliard School of New York which it leaves graduate. He is then flutist concert performer and will be prize winner of several international contests: Geneva, Munich, Montreux.
From 1960 to 1968, it carries out a career of Soliste which leads it in Switzerland, Germany, Austria before belonging to the Philharmonic orchestra of Monte Carlo where it meets Paul Paray. This one, discovering the gifts of leader of the musician, encourages it to introduce to the international contests young leaders.
Prize winner of the Contest of Besancon in 1968 and gold medal of the prestigious contest Mitropoulos of New York in 1970, Philippe Bender is engaged as chief-assistant with the New York Philharmonic where he works under the successive directions of Leonard Bernstein and Pierre Boulez.
Since Philippe Bender directed many Western orchestras among which one can quote the American Symphony Orchestra of New York, the orchestras of the French-speaking Switzerland , Geneva and Lausanne, those of Frankfurt and Baden-Baden, Essicher Rundfunk Orchester, Orchestras of $the Hague, of Rotterdam, the Concertgebow of Amsterdam, the New York Philharmonic, the Symphony orchestra of Houston, the Symphony orchestra of Quebec, the orchestras NHK Symphony Orchestra and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the National orchestra of France, the Orchestre of Paris, the instrumental Ensemble of Paris. It directed, with the head of the Orchestra of the Fondation Gulbenkian, a series in concerts to India which brought it in particular to Bombay, New-Delhi, Madras…
It is also regularly invited in the United States where it directs various orchestras and takes part in many festivals.
Philippe Bender regularly directs the Spanish phalanges, of which the National orchestra of Spain.
Philippe Bender in particular went with the regional Orchestre of Cannes-Provence-Alp-Coast-D' Azure to Japan, in Morocco, in the United States, to Germany, to Austria, in Brazil and to China for great rounds which in particular led it to New York, Washington, Tokyo, Osaka, Sao Paulo, Berlin and Vienna, Shanghai and Beijing.
November 4th, 2007, within the framework of the demonstration It is not traditional, it directs the Orchestra of Cannes for the First interpretation to France of the Oratorio Ecce Cor Meum of Paul McCartney, written in 2001.
Distinctions
is gold medal of the prestigious contest Mitropoulos of New York in 1970.is knight in the order of the Légion of honor.
January 26th, 2005, during the handing-over of the Victoire of honor decreed by the Victories of the classical music, Patrick de Carolis and Frederic Lodéon put at the honor Philippe Bender and his regional orchestra for all the work carried out near the young people, in the area and with the international one.
