Philippe Barrès (born the July 8th 1896 - died the April 14th 1975) was a Journaliste French, wire of Maurice Barrès.

Biography

Former soldier at the time of the First World War, he was member of the first fascistic party in France, the Beam, at the end of the years 1920. He was also journalist and editor association with the Matin , then with Paris-Evening . During the Second world war he lived with the the United States and wrote for French newspapers. He put from the start at the service of the free France and he wrote in 1941 the very first biography of Charles de Gaulle. He founds the newspaper Paris-Press in 1944. Thereafter, he was appointed RPF then General adviser UNR of the Seine of 1959 to 1965. He took his distances with the Algerian policy of the general, his son Claude Barrès having been killed during a “operation of maintenance of law and order”.
