Philippe (deacon)
Holy Philippe the Deacon who must be distinguished from the apostle Philippe, one of the seven first deacons of is chrétienneté. He probably died worm the year 70, probalement with Césarée.
He was married and had 4 virgin girls who, according to the Acts of the Apostles (6: 8-9) prophesied.
One owes him in particular:
- the evangelization of the Samarie (which was worth to him the nickname of evangelist )
- conversions of Simon the Magician and Ethiopic, eunuque of the queen Candace, to the road of Jerusalem to Gaza.
Towards the year 58, it received at his place Paul de Tarse and the evangelist Luc, where take place the incident of Agabus (ac 21:10 - 14).
The tradition makes of him the bishop of Lydie.
An assumption wants that it could have translated into Greek a Hebraic version or araméenne of the Gospel according to Matthieu of which he would be the writer.
