Philippe-Auguste Choquette (Beloeil, January 6th, 1854 -- Saint-Heart-of-Marie, December 20th, 1948) was a lawyer, federal Député, Juge and Canadian Senator .
Wire of Joseph Choquette and Marie (or Thais) Audet, it made studies of Droit to the Université Laval of Quebec. Admitted with the Bar in 1880, it is established with Montmagny. At the time of the federal election of 1882, it is presented in the form of a candidate of the liberal party in the district of Montmagny and it east demolishes. August 29th, 1883, he marries Marie Bender (grand-daughter to sir Etienne-Paschal Taché). Always in 1883, it founds the newspaper the Mail of Montmagny .
It is presented again in Montmagny at the time of the federal election of 1887 and this time it is elected. He is re-elected at the time of the federal elections of 1891 and of 1896. During this period, it will be one of the principal lieutenants of Wilfrid Laurier.
In 1898, it is named judge of the Superior court of Quebec for the legal district of Arthabaska, posts that it leaves in 1904 to become senator senatorial electoral college of Grandville until 1919. In 1905-1906, he is director of the newspaper '' the Sun '', of Quebec, then body of the liberal party. From 1920 to 1929, it returns to the magistrature like judges Court of the sessions of peace in Quebec.
